What is a digital twin and why is it important to implement this?

A digital twin links to a physical twin via sensors on the assets or systems inside. As part of the construction process, a 3D digital model is created that is completely coordinated. The model is usually given to the building owner or developer when the project is completed – and is often never used again in the future.

With this technology, building owners and operators can make use of this data in a real-time manner by providing real-time analytics on connected assets, sensors, and systems in a functioning building. It can be viewed in the form of a 3D model,2D sheets, or via a reporting dashboard.
